Independent Candidate Eddie Ahmad Aybash campaign pledge

Political parties are not about serving the American people anymore. They have lost sight of what is important and no longer clearly recognize their goals. They should be a means by which a candidate might have assistance in getting elected and should not be used to launch philosophical platforms or influence the politician in any way other than to help them avoid mistakes and offer advice when needed.

  My fellow citizens,

You should not vote for someone based on their flashy website design or televised campaign ads, because they're simply the product of spending dollars. Worthy candidates are individuals who hold values of Honor, Dignity, Respect, Honesty, Trust, and Commitment true and viable to themselves and to others. As your independent representative in the U.S. Congress I will work very hard and spare no effort to address the issues that concerns you the most. I will proudly serve the American people and only the American people, no special interest groups or Lobbyists. I cannot and will not be bought.

It's about people, not Politics                          Vote for positive change, and help decide America's  future.

Independent candidate Eddie Ahmad Ayyash Bio

About Ahmad Ayyash,

I believe that every individual  has the potential to influence others in a positive way. I know that for one to succeed they have to be part of a successful community.  America is the melting pot of this world, America is great because different people from different backgrounds and different cultures together form our great American society.

I was born and raised in Amman, Jordan. I have lived in the United States since 1989. I come from a middle class family in which both parents worked very hard to provide for their children. I learned very early in life the importance of working hard and to never give up because with hard work and commitment everything is possible.

I have decided to run for this office because I want to be part of the solution. In recent years, the government and our politicians chose to ignore many important issues that affect the lives of many American citizens. They looked the other way hoping that these problems will go away, But the problems persisted and it seems they will be around unless we do something to resolve them. We cannot ignore our problems,  ignorance is not an excuse.

My desire to improve myself and  the lives of others around me have steered me to go back to college to continue my higher education after 14 years  of absence. I went back to Milwaukee Area Technical College to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. I am a strong believer in education, education is the basis of every great civilization.  As a father, I'm very concerned about the future of our children and the quality of their education. It's our responsibility to make positive changes that will improve our lives and secure better future for many generations to come.

    Issues

There are many issues plaguing our society today, none of which are given any thought at the “macro” level. Politicians today tend to look at the “issue of the day” like it’s the soup of the day. This is why we have politicians that have knee jerk reactions, like bailing out failing companies.
Dan’s forward thinking will allow him to look at issues and take into account the effect that a decision will have on other issues or the impact that it will have on the people of the 4th district.

    Dan Sebring's Candidacy Statement

    Candidacy Statement

It was while recovering from a recent surgery that I became motivated to run for Congress against Gwen Moore. I wrote her a letter in which I expressed that it was important for me as a constituent to let her know how I felt on issues that concerned me.
Then I asked her to support a House Resolution that was important to me. It was her response that motivated me. Not only did her reply say that she wouldn’t even consider supporting the Resolution, it went on to give reason after reason why I was wrong. I re-read the letter many times. When I “read between the lines” what I interpreted that letter to say was…”How dare you tell me how to do my job. I’m a member of Congress and you’re just a citizen. I’ll tell you what’s good for you and you’ll like it!”
When the 2008 primary election rolled around I couldn’t wait to go to the polls and cast my ballot against Gwen Moore. What I found out was the Republican Party had no candidate for that office. There was no one for me to vote for! That’s when I mounted a write-in campaign that netted nearly 500 votes. Shortly after Thanksgiving I filed my declaration of intent for the 2010 election cycle.
More recently, with regard to healthcare reform, I attended two Organizing for America healthcare reform rallies at which Ms. Moore spoke. She said, “This is what the President wants and we have to get behind it!” It is the job of members of The House of Representatives to take the ideas, opinions and concerns of the people they represent to Washington and say “this is what the people want”.
It is not to bring the policies of the government back to the people and tell them they need to “get behind it”, and then run off to Spain to find out how U.S. Government policy is going to affect her constituents. My campaign to unseat Gwen Moore is about representation. My promise to the people of the 4 th District is to take their ideas, opinions, and concerns to Washington and tell the government “This is what the people want and we have to get behind them!”

A little background on Dan Sebring

    About Dan

The middle child of 5, my father was the church organist and my mother was the Pulaski High School class of ’51 valedictorian. I’m a 53 year old Republican Candidate who is running against Gwen Moore for the 4th Congressional District Seat in 2010. My vision is not about Democrat and Republican, but about doing what’s right for the community. As a small business owner, I know what it’s like to feel the pinch of higher taxes, soaring cost of living, and living day by day on the brink of financial disaster.
My run for Congress began in the late summer of 2008. As a watchful citizen I realized the incumbent was running unopposed. Normally this is not cause for concern, but as my taxes continued to climb, job losses were beginning to mount, and with all of this taking a direct toll on my business, I began my quest for Washington as an underdog write-in candidate. Below is a little bit about me.
    • 53 years old
    • Can trace roots back to the Mayflower
    • Small business owner in Milwaukee since 1993
    • Former volunteer firefighter in the city of New Berlin
    • Navy veteran assigned to the Chief of Naval Operations Intelligence staff at the Pentagon
    • 2008 Write-In Candidate
    • Obtained 483 votes during a 6-week write in campaign

    Navy Veteran

I’m a United States Navy Veteran who has served on the Chief of Naval Operations Intelligence Staff at the Pentagon during the Reagan Administration. An era which included the Grenada Rescue Operation. While I’m not at liberty to discuss the details of my time at the Pentagon, I can tell you that it’s not an assignment they give to just anybody.  I was in a position of considerable responsibility during a time of uncertainty in our nations history. I was frequently in contact with some of the most powerful people leading our nation during the Reagan Administration.  People like Secretary of the Navy John Lehman, Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger, former Speaker of the House the late Tip O’Neill, and former Deputy Director of Military Affiars for the National Security Counsel Lt. Col. Oliver North (ret).
Additionally, unlike most sailors, I have a letter of commendation from the Army Chief of Staff for my participation in the internment of the Vietnam Unknown Soldier.
I’m no stranger to working in the politically charged atmosphere of Washington, D.C.  I was also assigned to the Naval Air Reconnaissance Center – Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
My days in the Navy were punctuated by butting heads with over zealous higher ups who were constantly exceeding their authority. They needed reigning in – and I was always up to the task.
